Home - The Department of General History

Instruction in this department has the aim of imparting historical knowledge and an understanding of historical processes. The studies in this department deal with the political, social, economic, and spiritual development of the nations of Europe and America, which feed upon the traditions of Greece and Rome and Christian culture. The communication and contacts of these nations with other parts of the world are also discussed.

The goal of studies toward the Master's degree is to deepen the students' historical education and to impart to them the tools required for historical research. To this end, students specialize in one period (ancient history, the Middle Ages, the modern period, or the post-modern period) or one theme not limited to a certain period. They also participate in integrated studies common to all periods
